Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to:
- Discuss the most common cancers diagnosed in reproductive age women. Gynecologic Cancers: Breast, Cervical. Non-Gynecologic Cancers: Melanoma, Thyroid, Hodgkin’s Disease, Leukemia
- Discuss literature regarding role of termination once diagnosed with cancer. Survival of patients with breast cancer who continue their pregnancies vs. those who terminate the pregnancy. Same with pregnant patient with acute leukemia.
- Discuss safety of cancer treatment during pregnancy. Sentinel node biopsy and Chemotherapy studies in pregnancy.
- Discuss long term follow up of children exposed to chemotherapy.
