SANE Refresher Course - 2026

Pittston, PA US
October 12, 2026
This is an in-person educational activity. In order to provide a robust call schedule of Sexual Assault Forensic Examiners (SAFEs), Geisinger offers training for nurses and providers to provide forensic examination services to patients who present to Geisinger Emergency Departments (EDs) who have been sexually assaulted or a victim of physical violence. Goal is to have 24/7 coverage, 365 days per year to ease the burden on ED nurses as these forensic exams take multiple hours to perform, reducing coverage on the floor to care for other patients. The examination process, when performed by a trained SANE nurse, creates better patient experience.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for registered nurses who will participate in the SAFE (Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner) Program at Gelsinger.
