Translating Knowledge: Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice Conference 2026
Target Audience
This activity is designed for Advanced Practice Nurses, RN's, LPN's and other Healthcare Professionals who utilize research and evidence-based practice to inform clinical decision making. Other learner groups such as Nursing Students and Academia Faculty would also benefit from this education.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
1. examine how integrating a standardized social determinate of health screening tool into the pediatric medical record enables nurses to identify social needs and implement timely, patient-centered interventions to improve child health outcomes
2. explain how the integration of research and evidence-based practice supports clinical decision making and advances the science and quality of patient care
3. describe the importance of clearly defined code roles in hospital resuscitation teams and how evidence-based practice was used to develop and standardize these roles to improve team performance and patient outcomes
4. evaluate how the use of fidget tools, supported by research evidence, enhances learner engagement and participation in educational settings
5. examine how healthcare teams can apply health systems science into daily work to improve care delivery and patient outcomes
6. analyze evidence-based strategies for preventing and responding to workplace violence in the health care setting

Henry Hood Center for Health Research is located on the Geisinger Campus in Danville, Pennsylvania (Montour County), Exit 224 on Interstate 80. Routes 11 and 54 also intersect in Danville.
