Objectives:

•  determine the technical adequacy of EMG testing and be able to correct technical problems when they arise

• determine the appropriateness and completeness of an EMG for a patient’s complaint

• create a differential diagnosis for a patient’s complaint based on the history, clinical examination, and EMG/laboratory testing

• recommend further patient evaluation and when appropriate manage the underlying disease
