At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to: 

  • Demonstrate effective image optimization techniques for myocardial strain imaging
  • Recognize strain pattern for myocardial strain imaging and associated pathological states
  • Review physics of strain and how it relates to myocardial deformation and recoil (spring theory)
  • List the 3 types of myocardial strain and associated myocardial architecture 
  • Review prognostication and assessment in various pathological states including cardio-oncology
