Second Annual Clinical Quality Symposium

October 21, 2025
This is an in-person educational activity. The symposium covers quality, safety and patient experience and how it affects our staff and patients.  Prepares staff with knowledge and best practices in patient safety, infection control and the patient experience through panel discussions, interactive workshops, poster sessions and speakers. 
 
Participation in this activity will fulfill the annual requirement of six Geisinger-mandated Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours focused on medical malpractice reduction for Geisinger physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs).

Target Audience

This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants and social workers. Other learner groups such as medical students, nursing students, residents and fellows would also benefit from this education. 

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:

  • develop working knowledge principles and importance of CANDOR
  • identify patient safety risks within the healthcare setting
  • describe workings of CoPa and GPOP
  • identify resources for education
  • discuss driving principles for patient experience improvement
  • discuss executive leadership perspectives on quality movement at Geisinger

In the unusual circumstance that this course is cancelled, you will be called and/or emailed, and any tuition fees received would be refunded in full.  Geisinger is not responsible for any airfare, hotel or other costs incurred.
 
Attendance
Attendance will be recorded within three to four days of the conclusion of the activity.  Credit will display on your continuing education transcript once the activity evaluation is completed.
