Pediatric Sexual Assault Review Course
Target Audience
This activity is designed for registered nurses who will participate in the SAFE (Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner) program at Geisinger.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
- review the PA guidelines for pediatric/adolescent Sexual Assault
- improve understanding of trauma informed care for children and adolescents
- identify normal and abnormal anatomy and exam findings on children and adolescents
- discuss the proper approach to interacting with children/adolescents who have experienced sexual assault
- discuss peer review practices for children and adolescent SA exams
