Patient Care Technician Education Day
Target Audience
This activity is designed for patient care technicians, unlicensed support staff, and students including nursing interns, nursing externs, and nursing co-ops responsible for providing patient care. Other learner groups such as medical assistants and other unlicensed technician staff responsible for providing patient care would also benefit from this education.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
- discuss infection prevention and control measures to protect patients and staff
- discuss nursing sensitive quality indicators and quality data benchmarking
- examine Hospital Acquired Pressure Ulcer prevention strategies
- discuss community resources available to trauma survivors and their families
- identify the purpose and goals of the Trauma Survivor Network
- explore strategies to improve personal safety in the workplace
- discover professional development and continuing education opportunities for employees
- discuss nursing leadership goals and advancements
Schedule
All visitors to the Geisinger campus, please park in the patient parking lot. A shuttle bus will take you to the Henry Hood Center for Health Research, please notify the driver when boarding the bus of your final destination.
Travel
Henry Hood Center for Health Research is located on the Geisinger Campus in Danville, Pennsylvania (Montour County), Exit 224 on Interstate 80. Routes 11 and 54 also intersect in Danville.
