Patient Care Technician Education Day
This is a hybrid educational activity. Activity topics are relevant to PCT clinical practice and range from workplace safety to self-care. Learners will gain knowledge that they can apply to enhance their clinical practice and professional quality of life.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for patient care technicians and nursing intern and extern unlicensed staff responsible for providing patient care. Other learner groups such as medical assistants and/or unlicensed technicians' staff responsible for providing patient care would also benefit from this education.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
- explore factors the influence professional quality of life.
- identify ways to improve professional quality of life.
- define gun violence and how to mitigate gun violence.
- identify three firearms safety precautions.
- summarize institutional strategies to disseminate human trafficking education and increase awareness
- describe ways caregivers can help human trafficking victims self-identify
- state the purpose of the K9 program and specialized K-9 skills
- define delirium and dementia
- summarize care interventions to prevent or treat delirium and dementia in the healthcare setting
