Target Audience
This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, and pharmacists in outpatient/community practice, including pediatrics. Other learner groups such as any other learner that utilizes motivational interviewing during their clinical practice would also benefit from this education.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
- Identify specific motivational interviewing and shared decision-making skills and techniques useful in communicating with patients about health-related behavior change
- Effectively utilize specific motivational interviewing and shared decision-making skills in simulated encounters with standardized patients
