Healthy Beginnings Conference

This is an in-person educational activity. Attending the Healthy Beginnings Conference can give you new ideas, help refine your existing concepts and enhance your mind of resources, programs, and education to benefit your role as a Healthy Beginnings Coordinator. This is also an opportunity to meet leaders and strengthen your professional network connections with other Healthy Beginnings Coordinators from other Health Systems. You will gain insights and benefit from perspectives and fresh ideas from keynote speakers.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for nurses, nurse practitioners and social workers.  Other learner groups such as healthy beginnings coordinators and other professionals' benefit by learning about various resources and updated modalities that are available to assist the needs of the patients. 

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:

  • discuss the importance of assessing transportation concerns
  • discuss the importance of referral and workflow to enroll patients in county transportation agencies
  • describe the benefits of transportation availability in the pregnant mother

A full refund will be given for any cancellations received up to one week prior to the course.  No refunds for no-shows.

In the unusual circumstance that this course is cancelled, you will be called and/or emailed, and any tuition fees received would be refunded in full.  Geisinger is not responsible for any airfare, hotel or other costs incurred.
 
Attendance
Attendance will be recorded within three to four days of the conclusion of the activity.  Credit will display on your continuing education transcript once the activity evaluation is completed.

    All visitors to the Geisinger campus, please park in the patient parking lot. A shuttle bus will take you to the Henry Hood Center for Health Research, please notify the driver when boarding the bus of your final destination.

    Henry Hood Center for Health Research is located on the Geisinger Campus in Danville, Pennsylvania (Montour County), Exit 224 on Interstate 80. Routes 11 and 54 also intersect in Danville.
