Great-HF Care: Adding SGLT2 (and GLP1) Agents to Patients on Therapy Already - August 14, 2024
This is a virtual educational activity. Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) is associated with high mortality & morbidity. Use of Guideline directed medical therapies (GDMT) has been shown to significantly reduce these adverse outcomes. However, national & Geisinger data has shown a significant gap in the use of GDMT in this patient population. So, to improve upon this, these sessions will support continuous professional development across Cardiology to improve target audience understanding & utilization of GDMT (particularly SGLT2i & ARNI in patients with HFrEF).
Target Audience
This activity is designed for Physicians (MD & DO), Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Pharmacists and Nurses (RN).
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
- explain the mortality & morbidity benefits of GDMT for patients with HFrEF
- classify the indications & prescribing/titration strategies for SGLT2 inhibitors & ARNI for patients with HFrEF
- demonstrate knowledge of the contraindications & monitoring strategies for GDMT for patients with HFrEF
