Fundamentals of Critical Care Support - Surgical December 5 and 6, 2023
Target Audience
This activity is designed for all healthcare providers who participated in patient care at all levels where there is a possibility of patient’s clinical status worsening acutely of presenting with serious illness.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
1. review guidelines for initial ventilator management as they apply to specific clinical situations
2. describe the framework for initial assessment of critically ill patient
3. identify patients who have acute coronary syndromes
4. identify adverse events and drug interactions from anesthetics in the post operative period
5. discuss indications and techniques for noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NPPV)
6. recognize various abdominal emergencies and the importance of early surgical consultation
7. review the clinical and diagnostic assessment of a brain injury patient.
8. recognize early signs and symptoms of critical illness
