FCCS Resource Limited - February 22-23, 2027

Danville, PA US
February 22, 2027 to February 23, 2027
This is an in-person educational activity. The Society of Critical Care Medicine's Fundamentals of Critical Care Support: Resource Limited (FCCS-RL) course prepares healthcare professionals to recognize, stabilize, and manage critically ill patients in environments where personnel, equipment, medications, diagnostics, or intensive care resources are limited. Using evidence-based principles adapted to austere and resource-constrained settings, the course emphasizes early recognition of critical illness, systematic patient assessment, prioritization of life-saving interventions, ethical resource stewardship, and effective multidisciplinary teamwork. FCCS-RL is designed for physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals who care for critically ill patients in rural hospitals, disaster settings, humanitarian missions, military operations, and other resource-limited healthcare environments.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for physicians, APPs, nurses, pharmacists, emergency physicians, hospitalists, surgeons, intensivists, military and humanitarian healthcare professionals.  Other learner groups such as respiratory therapists, residents, fellows, students, EMS providers, disaster response personnel, and public health professionals would also benefit from this education.

  • recognize critically ill patients requiring immediate stabilization
  • prioritize diagnostic and therapeutic interventions despite limited resources
  • apply management strategies for shock, respiratory failure, sepsis, neurologic emergencies, and trauma
