Enduring Material: Improving Blood Pressure Control, Geisinger Hypertension Conference

This is a recording of the in-person educational activity held in March 2025. Improving Blood Pressure Control in 2025, Geisinger Hypertension Conference covers key topics in hypertension management, discusses updates and best practices for improving blood pressure control rates at the health system level. Through didactic lectures and case-based discussions hypertension experts from Geisinger and other institutions discuss key topics and share best practices for diagnosis and management of hypertension, with the goal of improving blood pressure control in various clinical situations. This activity is relevant to primary care providers, specialists involved in the care of patients with hypertension as well as to pharmacists, and advanced providers.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for physicians, physician assistants, and nurses.  Other learner groups such as dietitians, pharmacists, residents, fellows, nursing students, and physician assistant students would also benefit from this education. 

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:

  • describe the current state of hypertension control at Geisinger
  • describe the current guidelines for the diagnosis and management of hypertension
  • identify and leverage health systems available at Geisinger to aid clinicians in management of hypertension
  • identify and refer early patients with resistant hypertension
  • discuss device-based therapies for the management of resistant hypertension
