Clinical Faculty and Preceptors (CFPA) 201 Advanced Practice Professionals

Enduring - This is a virtual, asynchronous educational activity.

CFPA 201 is a 4 module self-paced, online, asynchronous learning program that introduces learners to evidence-based approaches to clinical teaching for APP students, feedback strategies to enhance performance, evidence-based assessment and evaluation techniques for APP learners, and how to provide a psychologically safe learning environment to students. The course generally requires 6 hrs. to complete with 1-2 hrs. to complete the final assessment activity. Course enrollment is set for 90 days with the option for extension by request. The final summative assessment activity will be reviewed by the Geisinger School of Nursing faculty and upon completion of the course, 6 continuing education credits can be claimed.  In partnership with PA Action Coalition, Geisinger is enhancing nursing education to address nursing faculty and instructor shortages with the development of the CFPA.

This collaboration allows for academy development with funds awarded by the U.S Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), CDFA#93.359. The CFPA will help us recruit and retain experienced nurses to train the nurses of tomorrow.
