4th Geisinger Seminar in Anatomic Pathology
This is a hybrid educational activity.
This conference will provide an update in diagnostic surgical pathology and immunohistochemistry (IHC), with a format of didactic lecture and case-based presentation, which will allow practicing anatomic pathologists to address their gaps in knowledge and become proficient in the application of diagnostic IHC in different subspecialities. Another gap to be addressed is recognizing newly described entities in different organs and working up a diagnostic challenging case in surgical specimens.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for General Surgical Pathologists, Pathology Fellows, and Residents. Other learner groups such as Pathologist Assistants, AP Management, GI Physicians would also benefit from this education.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
- apply the best practice concept of using IHC in daily practice
- communicate results effectively with the clinician and better appreciate the importance of triple (clinical, radiologic, and histologic) correlation
- recognize newly described entities in GI Pathology
- describe the applications and pitfalls of described IHC markers
