29th Annual Update in Pediatrics
This is a live, in-person educational activity. This annual CME program is designed for physicians, advanced practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, and social workers who care for pediatric patients. By attending, bi-annual child abuse certification for licensure will be earned and participants will learn updates on diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of illnesses in pediatric patients.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, athletic trainers, and dieticians. Other learner groups who would also benefit from this education include anyone who cares for or works with pediatric patients .
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
- identify and report child abuse.
- implement screening and testing for pediatric injuries and illnesses.
- manage prevention and intervention for pediatric injuries and illnesses.
- describe an ethical framework to navigate complex daily decision making.
- list local resources for pediatric subspecialty expertise.

Travel
There is no parking at the Henry Hood Center for Health Research. Visitors will need to park in the visitor parking lots and take shuttle bus to the Henry Hood Center for Health Research. You will need to inform the shuttle bus driver that you need to be dropped off at the Henry Hood Center for Health Research.
You may use valet parking at your own expense if you chose not to park in the visitor parking lots.

Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 6 clinical continuing education credits.
Completion of the RD DTR profession-specific or IPCE activity awards CPEUs (One IPCE credit = One CPEU). If the activity is dietetics - related but not targeted to RDs or DTRs, CPEUs may be claimed which are commensurate with participation in contact hours (One 60 minute hour = 1 CPEU). RDs and DTRs are to select activity type 102 in their Activity Log. Sphere and Competency selection is at the learner's discretion.
