2025 SANE Review Course

September 11, 2025 to September 12, 2025
This is an in-person educational activity. It is essential for Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) to remain informed and confident in delivering trauma-informed, evidence-based care. This comprehensive review course is designed to reinforce foundational knowledge while introducing the latest updates and best practices in the care of sexual assault survivors. 

Target Audience

This activity is designed for registered nurses who will participate in the SAFE (Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner) Program at Geisinger.  

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:

  • complete forensic examination and collection of evidence, including anonymous reporting    
  • provide trauma informed care to victims of sexual assault
  • complete medicolegal photography and specimen collection
  • discuss indications for sexually transmitted disease and prophylaxis

Attendance
Attendance will be recorded within three to four days of the conclusion of the activity.  Credit will display on your continuing education transcript once the activity evaluation is completed.
