Program Description
This is a hybrid Educational Activity.
As the management of breast patients, both benign and malignant, is evolving providers are given the opportunity to have access to current information. We will hear about standards and guidelines as well as current and new treatments. It gives providers who care for breast patients the opportunity to network with other breast care providers from other specialties and facilities.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for system providers involved with breast care including physicians, nurses, advanced practitioners and psychologists. Other learner groups such as residents and fellows would also benefit from this education.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
- describe management of late presenting and stage 4 breast cancer a multimodal approach
- identify new techniques in breast surgery and better outcomes with a flat mastectomy
- summarize the concepts of body image, femininity and identity after breast surgery and how breast cancer patients can again be comfortable with intimacy
