13th Annual Pulmonary Medicine Symposium

This is a hybrid educational activity. The Geisinger Annual Pulmonary Medicine Symposium aims to inform learners in the various disciplines within the field of pulmonology. The conference will include new updates within the field of pulmonology that are relevant across the spectrum and across various venues in patient encounters.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for advanced practice providers, physicians, nurses and respiratory therapists.  Other learner groups such as social workers and care managers would also benefit from this education.  

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:

  • identify the state-of-the-art understanding of current management strategies for the care of patients with asthma, including an understanding of current initiatives active within our institution
  • identify radiographic findings which may be identified and may or may not correlate with severity of disease in various pulmonary diseases
  • identify potential interactions with environmental and climate that may impact an individual’s respiratory diseases
  • identify potential evidence base for the use of adjunctive therapies in the treatment of pulmonary infectious diseases
  • identify understanding of the clinical benefit of pulmonary rehabilitation in the care of chronic respiratory diseases, including an understanding of current initiatives active within our institution

In the unusual circumstance that this course is cancelled, you will be called and/or emailed, and any tuition fees received would be refunded in full. Geisinger is not responsible for any airfare, hotel or other costs incurred.  

Attendance

Attendance will be recorded within three to four days of the conclusion of hte activity. Credit will display on your continuing education transcript once the activity evaluation is completed.
