Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to:
- Describe conditional survival (CS) and its relevance to chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI).
- Interpret the clinical significance of major limb amputation within one year of CLTI diagnosis and explain its implications for patient mortality and conditional survival outcomes.
- Discuss the systemic nature of CLTI as an indicator of advanced progressive atherosclerotic disease and identify potential research directions for exploring surgical intervention impacts on long-term survival.
- Recognize the prevalence of childhood obesity and the role of current guidelines to treat this disease, including Geisinger's Pediatric Weight Management Program
- Explore the effects of Geisinger's Pediatric Weight Management Program on BMI measures and medication use.
- Understand the differences between the anterior (ALIF) and transforaminal (TLIF) techniques.
- Interpret the analysis of radiographic, patient reported outcomes, and rate of recovery longitudinally between ALIF vs TLIF.
- Discuss the clinical implications of ALIF vs TLIF based on the result findings and identify potential future research directions.
