Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to:
- Review pertinent anatomy and principles related to neck masses
- Build a differential diagnosis list based on key differentiating features
- Determine appropriate disposition for patients with new neck masses
- Identify patients at risk for alcohol use disorder
- Determine appropriate inpatient vs outpatient disposition of patients at risk for alcohol withdrawal
- Review comorbidities associated with alcohol use disorder
- Define polycythemia, specifically considering relative and absolute cases
- Consider the clinical features and sequalae
- Formulate treatment plan for symptomatic polycythemia
- Recognize the presenting signs and symptoms of tetanus infection/toxicity, and diagnose and manage those patients afflicted with the disease.
