- to identify the risk factors for poor outcomes in 80-year-old patients that undergo EVT
- to review the outcomes in thrombectomy treated ischemic stroke patients aged 80 years
At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to answer the following questions:
- based on the evidence presented in this article, what factors should be considered when deciding whether to recommend endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) for a frail elderly patient?
- what clinical indicators are most appropriate for assessing frailty in elderly patients in the acute setting?
- to what extend is reduced ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) a reliable indicator of frailty, and what are then limitations of using this as a sole measure?
