Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to: 

• Apply current evidence to the management of acute central retinal artery occlusion
• Recognize that intravenous tenecteplase did not improve 30-day visual recovery compared with aspirin in acute CRAO.
• Identify the three key limitations of the TenCRAOS trial that weaken its "negative" conclusion.

After viewing this session, the participants should be able to answer the following questions:

• What was the primary outcome, and what did the trial actually find?
• What serious adverse events occurred in the tenecteplase arm, and how do the authors contextualize the fatal ICH rate?
• What is the ongoing REVISION trial, and why might its results matter even though TenCRAOS was negative?
