At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to: 

1. Describe the importance of screening for liver fibrosis in a high-risk population such as patients with alcohol use disorder.
2. Recognize the gap in care currently experienced by patients with alcohol use disorder.
3. Propose a feasible intervention to improve patient health outcomes by screening for liver fibrosis and connecting patients to appropriate care as soon as possible. 
4. Describe the clinical and scientific challenges that make scholarly work essential in psychiatry and addiction. 
5. Identify key data infrastructure tools - such as NLP pipelines, patient registries, and new Epic instruments that transform unstructured clinical information into research-grade evidence for substance use research.
6. Appraise translational research examples from SURE to evaluate how clinical partnerships and informatics methods can improve scholarship and ultimately, psychiatric and addiction care outcomes.
