At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to: 

1. Review definition of SUID and recent trends in epidemiology.​
2. Identify disparities in rates of SUID in racial and ethnic groups.​
3. Report data for Pennsylvania rates of SUID stratified by race.​
4. Evaluate possible causes and contributors for disparities in rates of SUID across different populations. ​
5. Inventory current practices at Geisinger regarding SIDS/SUID education. ​
6. Reflect on methods of improving cultural competency in SUID education and prevention strategies.
