At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to:
- Identify the histologic features and development of pyloric gland metaplasia in the gastrointestinal tract.
- Correlate the presence of pyloric gland metaplasia to likely disease states based on patient age and surgical history.
- Evaluate the impact of patient blood management (PBM) on post-transplant outcomes in orthotopic liver transplantation?
- Review and promote the application of the three-pillar framework of PBM—focused on managing anemia, minimizing blood loss, and enhancing anemia tolerance.
