Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to:
- Recognize what the fimbria ovarica looks like under the microscope and how it connects to the ovary and surrounding tissue.
- Discuss why these fimbrial attachments matter, especially how they might play a role in the development or spread of ovarian (high-grade serous) cancer and other condition
- Identify nonclassical histologic variants of gastrointestinal Kaposi sarcoma that mimic benign or inflammatory conditions.
- Correlate nonspecific endoscopic findings with histology and use HHV-8 immunostaining for accurate diagnosis in immunocompromised patients.
