Learning Objectives: 

At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to: 

  • Identify major risk and protective factors associated with suicide
  • Perform a structured suicide risk assessment using evidence-based frameworks (SAFE-T and C-SSRS).
  • Differentiate low, moderate, and high-risk patients and determine the appropriate level of care.
  • Develop an initial management plan, including safety planning, lethal means counseling, and referral.
  • Document suicide assessments in a manner that is clinically sound and medically defensible.
