Patient Care Technician Education Day

This is a hybrid educational activity. The target audience for this learning activity is unlicensed support staff, Patient Care Technician (PCT) staff and students including - co-operatives, interns and extern students. Activity topics are relevant to unlicensed nursing clinical practice and range from clinical practice topics to career development topics. Learners will gain knowledge that they can apply to enhance clinical practice, patient care, and career development.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for patient care technicians, unlicensed support staff, and students including - nursing interns, nursing externs nursing co-ops responsible for providing patient care.  Other learner groups such as medical assistants and/or other unlicensed/technician staff responsible for providing patient care would also benefit from this education. 

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:

  • outline available career pathways within the healthcare system
  • explain educational requirements, training programs, and financial assistance options such as tuition reimbursement or scholarships
  • identify initiatives and interventions to support patient care excellence
  • summarize organizational goals and priorities
  • explore initiatives that drive continuous improvement in patient care delivery
  • examine goal-setting and creating individualized development plans to support long-term career progression

In the unusual circumstance that this course is cancelled, you will be called and/or emailed, and any tuition fees received would be refunded in full.  Geisinger is not responsible for any airfare, hotel or other costs incurred.
 
Attendance
Attendance will be recorded within three to four days of the conclusion of the activity.  Credit will display on your continuing education transcript once the activity evaluation is completed.
