AP Skills Refresher Course - April 10,2026
Target Audience
This activity is designed for Geisinger Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants from all regions who specialize in primary-care based practices, specifically Family Medicine and ConvenientCare.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
- perform basic interpretation of 12 lead EKGs
- demonstrate basic suturing and techniques
- describe the systematic approach to CXR review
- describe components of a screening neurological exam
- identify strategies for triaging and treating common childhood orthopedic injuries
Schedule
The GEMS Center in located on the west end of the Geisinger Medical Center campus in Danville, Pa., and is housed in two separate buildings:
The GEMS Simulation Center is in the former Interim Lab Building (ILB). It is a small yellow brick building directly to the left of the annex. It contains three high-fidelity simulation rooms with attached control/observation rooms and a combination thirty-person classroom/task training room.
