Geisinger Eye Institute (East) Fall 2025 Conference - Vision 2025: Emerging Strategies for Diagnosing and Managing Ocular Conditions
Target Audience
This activity is designed for physicians, optometrists, physician assistants, nurses, ophthalmic technicians and opticians in Ophthalmology/Optometry practices. Other learner groups such as other allied health professionals and administrative support personnel would also benefit from this education.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
- describe the genetic basis and classification of inherited retinal disorders (IRDs) and recognize how advances in genetic testing are improving diagnosis and personalized treatment strategies
- discuss the role of vision rehabilitation and assistive technologies, including AI-powered tools, in supporting functional independence and quality of life in individuals with inherited retinal conditions
- recognize vision threating ocular disorders and conditions
- identify ocular medications used for emergent, urgent or routine conditions
- demonstrate functional understanding in the process of analyzing atypical ocular presentations

To find Mohegan Sun Pocono from Philadelphia and Allentown, take Interstate 476 (Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike) to Exit 105. Turn left onto PA-115 N (Bear Creek Blvd.). Go approximately 5 miles. PA-115 N becomes PA-309 N. Take Exit 1 from PA 309 N. At traffic light, turn left onto PA-315. Mohegan Sun Pocono is 1.5 miles on the left.
