This is an in-person educational activity. The field of eye care is constantly evolving, with new diagnostic tools, treatment options, and surgical techniques emerging. This educational activity will provide the attendee information on best practices, present a concentrated dose of the latest developments in eyecare, and will discuss challenging cases, facilitating that which the learner can directly translate into improved patient care. Overall, attending this educational conference will be a valuable investment for providers, nurses and support staff to stay at the forefront of their field, network with colleagues, and ultimately provide the best possible care for their patients.
 

Target Audience

This activity (not limited to specialty of practice) is designed for physicians, optometrists, physician assistants, nurses, ophthalmic technicians and opticians. Other learner groups such as other allied health professionals and administrative support personnel would also benefit from this education.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: 

  • review low vision applications for retinal ophthalmic diseases and disorders
  • identify ocular medications used for emergent, urgent or routine conditions, to include new ocular medications
  • explain the mechanism of action for some new glaucoma medications
  • recognize vision threating ocular disorders and conditions
  • identify afferent visual system and efferent visual system disorders

    To find Mohegan Sun Pocono from Philadelphia and Allentown, take Interstate 476 (Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike) to Exit 105. Turn left onto PA-115 N (Bear Creek Blvd.).
