Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the physical types of simulation and their uses. 
  • Describe the VR/computer-based types of simulation and their uses. 
  • Describe and utilize simulation as task trainers, cognitive educators, and teaching tools. 
  • Discuss how simulation can be used as a testing tool. 
  • Discuss the limitations of simulation as a teaching and evaluation tool. 
  • Discuss the resources available at the GEMS center for teaching use. 
  • Effectively use simulation in curricular development. 
  • Describe resource needs and implementation strategies for their curricular project. 
  • Incorporate evaluation and learner feedback into their longitudinal project.
