At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to: 

• Discuss the latest advancement in LVAD technology, guidelines, and evidence-based practice.
• Evaluate and review current clinical outcomes of LVAD patients to identify areas for improvement in delivery of care.
• Analyze program data including survival rate, rehospitalization metrics, and complications to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Recognize and detect LVAD- specific complications and troubleshoot device alarms and malfunctions.
• Identify strategies to reduce complications such as infections, pump thrombosis, bleeding, and stroke.
