At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to: 

• Describe updated blood pressure targets, and the clinical rational behind them
• Define stages of hypertension, methods of blood pressure, measurements, and indications for treatment of blood pressure
• Explain the transition from ASCVD risk estimation to the PREVENT risk calculator and apply in clinical decision-making
• Examine lifestyle and form logic therapy based on individual cardiovascular risk
• Identify and select appropriate treatment for resistant hypertension, secondary hypertension, and malignant hypertension
• Recognize and evaluate secondary causes of hypertension
• Identify, evaluate and manage resistant hypertension
