Series Overview

Selecting a career in anesthesia is a time consuming and financially significant process. ICU staff nurses considering the nurse anesthesia pathway should be aware of the intricacies involved in working as an advanced practitioner in this field. Nurse anesthesia programs typically require a minimum of one year of ICU experience.
This experience can be enriched through a focused approach by the ICU nurse, who engages actively in their work and seeks to enhance their understanding of the critical care practices, treatments and methodologies that align with the delivery of anesthesia care. This program aims to inform candidates about anesthesia practices and better prepare them for their future enrollment in the nurse anesthesia programs.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for Registered Nurses currently working in the Intensive Care Unit who are aspiring to pursue a role as an advanced practitioner. Other learner groups such as any student nurse or non-ICU nurse would also benefit from this education.
