Objectives: 
  • Create an overall introduction to IR at Geisinger.  Who we are here in the Northeast.
  • Construct a department workflow description from consulting providers to our IR team (AP’s attending)
  • Discuss the services IR provides with particular attention to the large expansion of the interventional oncology (IO) service line and PE service line
  • Review the appropriate indications for inpatient biopsies and when/how to expediate outpatient biopsies by our IO service line
  • Discuss, is it appropriate to call IR on call for cases/what can wait until the morning
