  • Review commonly used potent opioids for acute and chronic pain.
  • Prescribe opioids comfortably using NCCN guidelines.
  • Review how to covert opioids from IV, SQ, IM forms to oral forms as patients leave the hospital.
  • Discuss how to rotate opioids from one potent drug to another using equianalgesic chart(s).
  • Practice calculating drug doses using case-based examples.
  • Prescribe opioids safely for acute and chronic pain; assess risks and benefits in clinical outpatient settings.
