At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to: 

  • Identify the outcomes of pain relief between intravenous ketamine vs nebulized ketamine for the use of acute pain relief in the emergency department. 

  • Evaluate the clinical advantages and disadvantages of nebulized ketamine vs intravenous ketamine for the use of acute pain in the emergency department.

  • Discuss deprescribing practices of CNS-active medications in geriatric patients as an alternative method for preventing falls and injuries.

  • Apply the data and bottom-line recommendation to clinical practice in the hospital setting.

  • Describe the use of biologics during pregnancy in patients with their respective autoimmune conditions.

  • Understand the benefits and drawbacks associated with biologics during pregnancy.
