Learning Objectives: 

At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to: 

  • Describe the possible adverse effects of givinostat on boys with muscular dystrophy
  • Evaluate the statistical and clinical results of the givinostat trial and determine if they are valuable 
  • Evaluate the efficacy of an IV to PO switch in patients with uncomplicated S. aureus bacteremia.
  • Develop a treatment plan for patients with uncomplicated S. aureus bacteremia. 
  • Compare the efficacy of cefepime/enmetazobactam to piperacillin/​tazobactam against extended-spectrum beta-lactamase producing gram-negative bacteria. 
  • Summarize cefepime/enmetazobactam’s place in therapy for the treatment of complicated urinary tract infections and pyelonephritis.
