TOPIC: What To Do Before You Have To Pop the Top – A Current Review of Neurotrauma Field Principles of Management and Pitfalls
OBJECTIVES: Field management principles and pitfalls will be discussed based on differing mechanisms of traumatic injury leading to neurotrauma. Various case presentations in pre-hospital management and ways to improve pre-hospital recognition and provisional care to obtain better patient outcomes will be presented.
Format: This is an interactive case-based lecture which involves different case scenarios in which neurotrauma has occurred and illustrates how initial EMS field management can be optimized while minimizing pitfalls to get the most optimal outcomes for your patients.
