2025 Pain Medicine Symposium
Target Audience
This activity is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, and psychologists. Other learner groups such as medical and nurse assistants, social workers, physical therapists, patient access representatives, medical students, residents and chaplains who care for individuals with chronic pain would also benefit from this education.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
- create a deeper understanding of the role of interventional pain management techniques to improve referral process and efficiency
- gain knowledge of the role of sports medicine in chronic pain management to permit coordination of more effective multi-disciplinary care
- discuss alternative and/or adjuvant medications to opioid class of medication and their indications for chronic non-cancer pain.
- explain gynecologic and non-gynecologic causes of female pelvic pain
- discuss and develop techniques for motivational interviewing of patients
