At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to: 

  1. Apply weight-based principles to appropriately dose and administer epinephrine for anaphylaxis.​

  2. Identify the rationale for continuing basal insulin in NPO patients with type 1 diabetes.​

  3. Determine when and which statin therapy is indicated in patients with type 2 diabetes, regardless of baseline LDL-C.​

  4. Recognize the relationship between hypomagnesemia and refractory hypokalemia and the importance of magnesium replacement.​

  5. Differentiate the role of calcitonin from definitive therapy in the management of severe hypercalcemia.
