Series Overview

This activity is the core foundational didactic education for residents and faculty members of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. These include multidisciplinary input in a range of formats including lectures, case-based learning, presentations, and multidisciplinary treatment planning teams.

Target Audience

This course in designed for learners from PGY levels 1,2,3,4 in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The sessions are also open to rotating off-service residents in the Departments of Plastic Surgery, Pediatric Dentistry, and Otolaryngology. The sessions are also open for rotating medical and dental students. Other learner groups such as department faculty learners that will be present for all didactic sessions. These sessions will aid the maintenance of licenses and certificates of our department.

Accreditation 

In support of improving patient care, Geisinger College of Health Sciences is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Geisinger College of Health Sciences designates this activity for 2 continuing education credits.  Concerns or complaints about a CE Provider may be directed to the provider, or to the Commission for Continuing Education Provider Recognition at ADA.org/CERP. 

ADA CERP requires all dentists to receive a certificate when attending a CE Activity.  The ADA CERP certificates will be created and sent to the CE Associates for distribution after credit is awarded.
