Target Audience
This activity is designed for all Physicians, not limited to specialty of practice; all Optometrists, not limited to specialty of practice; all Physician Assistants, not limited to specialty of practice; all Nurses,
not limited to Ophthalmic practices; Ophthalmic Technicians and Opticians in Ophthalmology/Optometry practices. Other learner groups such as other Allied Health professionals and administrative support personnel would also benefit from this education.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
1. recognize newer modalities for keratoconus detection, surveillance, and management
2. describe how to detect keratoconus suspects and how to monitor for progression of the disease
3. recognize and differentiate open angle from closed angle glaucomas, by using scientific knowledge (biomedical, clinical
and social)
4. discuss how to appropriately assess and treat closed angle glaucomas by using scientific knowledge (biomedical and
clinical)
5. describe how newer evidence is refining diagnosis, prognostication, and follow-up in common neuro-ophthalmic
disorders
6. recognize imaging/exam signs of retinal disease
7. form a differential diagnosis and management plan for various retinal diseases
