At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to: 

  • apply diagnostic and treatment principles addressed in the American Academy of Pediatrics guideline to the management of children with acute otitis media
  • incorporate epidemiologic and treatment outcome evidence from recent, NIH-sponsored, acute otitis media clinical trials to treat young children with acute otitis media
  • incorporate evidence from a recent, NIH-sponsored clinical trial to manage (medically or surgically) young children with recurrent acute otitis media.
