Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to:
- Describe the influence of patient population, type of approach (USG versus palpation-guided), and the personnel performing the procedure (radiologist versus pathologist) on the diagnostic results of FNAs of salivary glands
- Demonstrate the utility of the Milan System for Reporting Salivary Gland Cytopathology (MSRSGC) in conjunction with ultrasound guidance (USG) and ROSE in a cancer center setting, particularly in the context of cysts with non-mucinous contents
- Identify Transient abnormal myelopoiesis (TAM) in Down syndrome patients
- Identify the underlying molecular driver mutations of progression of TAM to myeloid neoplasm in Down syndrome patients
