GCHS Faculty Orientation

Welcome to the GCHS Faculty Orientation Program!

This asynchronous program is designed to help faculty members integrate into the GCHS community, understand institutional policies, and access essential resources. The program is self-paced, allowing faculty to complete modules at their convenience. 

Note: For optimal functionality, please log in to the Geisinger network using your Geisinger email and password. Many SharePoint links included in this module are accessible only when connected to the Geisinger network. However, the internal course content will remain fully accessible without a login. 

Directions: 

  • Explore Freely: This course offers a wide range of resources for you to read and explore. Take as much time as you need, and feel free to bookmark links to revisit later.
  • Learn at Your Own Pace: You can start, pause, and return to the course anytime. Your progress will be saved, so you can pick up right where you left off. 
  • Completion Requirements: To earn credit, you must finish the entire course, including all knowledge checks and the learner evaluation. 

Target Audience

This module is intended for all appointed faculty members at GCHS, including educators, researchers, and clinical faculty across all academic departments and schools. 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the module, participants will be able to...

  1. describe the mission, structure, and key resources of GCHS, including its academic departments, faculty governance, and institutional policies. 
  2. identify faculty rights, responsibilities, and professional expectations, such as academic freedom, shared governance, compliance with Title IX, FERPA, and participation in accreditation and promotion processes. 
  3. access and utilize essential tools and support services for teaching, research, and professional development, including technology resources, library services, and faculty development programs.
